John 15:12-13

"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you, Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends."

My older sister, Mary Lou on left, and my younger sister, Linda on right, are two of my "friends" who are laying down their lives for me. This picture was taken last Sunday morning as we left my house to take Mary Lou to the airport after she spent two weeks taking care of me while I'm under medical "house arrest." Linda has just arrived for her two weeks of the same service. I am so grateful for their love expressed to me in this way.

Dear Friends and Family,

Praise the Lord for His continuing care over me. When I saw my UCSF oncologist last Friday, he significantly lowered my pain medication and added some medications to control my nausea. This has improved my physical condition significantly. I'm eating better and am basically pain free. I'm hoping that at my next appointment, on Friday, April 8th, the pain medication will not be needed and the nausea medication could go away.

Physical Condition:

1) The vision in my left eye is about the same and it looks like I will need a new contact lens prescription for my right eye.

2) The neuropathy in my feet is being controlled better by the medication Gabapentine.

3) My UCSF oncologist is encouraged by the numbers in my blood work. He can see that my cleaned stem cells are embedding in my system and are reproducing. This is the goal of the stem cell transplant and the best treatment available for extending the life of a multiple myeloma patient. Of course, our days are already numbered by the Lord and He is in charge of our lives.

Thank you so much for your prayers and care over me. I am currently on medical "house arrest" which is why my sisters have come to take care of me and do all those things that require physical contact with others. Thank you for your e-mails and calls of encouragement.

Please pray that the Lord will:

a) Bring glory to His blessed Name (King of Kings and Lord of Lords, almighty God, healer, protector, full of wisdom and knowledge) through this trial

b) Heal me according to His perfect Will in a way that will bring pleasure to His heart

c) Help me to cooperate with His spiritual plan for my life

d) Change my heart to be more like His toward others

He is the Wonderful One. How worthy He is of all of our praise.

In His wonderful care,

Jane

  2. Didn't we have a rich time together!! the first 4 days battling pain, the next 10 getting the pain and nausea meds toned down. God was with us. Thank you Lord that the day Linda arrived you had your "head" back and were on the road to excellent health. Im so thankful for Ross your neighbor who edged and mowed. Im also thankful that despite some poor moves on my part (forgetting the wheel chair for our first SF dr appt!etc.) God is faithful as He moved us toward healing. Praise you, Jesus, that Jane is doing great, and she has our wise sister, Linda, with you. We head toward Oregon on Sat the 16th. xoxox M Lou
