Psalm 62:7 "In God is my salvation and my glory, the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God."

I have a beautiful Fuji apple tree in my back yard and have been able to share these apples with my neighbors.

Each season has its own delicious produce. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 says "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted."

For now, it's Fuji apples!

Dear Family and Friends,

I have been so blessed by addressing my emotions by praising God. In Ruth Myers' book "31 Days of Praise", she writes, "You'll find that praising God is an exciting adventure that yields rich dividends. Praise will help you make sense out of the hard realities of life. And - best of all - praise will deepen your experience of how vastly wonderful God is....how loving....how able to satisfy your heart and meet your deepest needs."

Ruth continues, "Praise can free you from wasting your energies by speculating on just exactly how each circumstance in your life could be part of God's plan. Through praising and thanking God, you put your stamp of approval on His unseen purposes. You do this not because you can figure out the specific whys or hows, but because you trust His love and wisdom. You endorse Paul's words in Romans 11:33-34, 'Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?' "

Medical Update:

1) I'm in the middle of round four of chemo. Thanks to my many friends who take me and bring me home.
2) There is little change in the vision in my left eye.
3) The swelling in my right foot has moved up to my ankle. My two feet look about the same size all day, but after being up for a few hours, the right ankle swells up.
4) My immune system is getting lower and my energy level is not what it used to be.
5) By God's grace, I am able to stand up, walk (even up and down stairs), cook, do dishes and laundry, read, and pay my bills. God gives me faith, matures me in Him, enables me to worship Him, fills me with His Holy Spirit, helps me to understand His Word, corrects me, forgives me, creates in me the desire and power to do His Will, and covers me with His love and grace. He is a giving God.

Thank you for your prayers. God has His perfect Will for my life and His plan is definitely the best plan.

Please pray that God will:

a) Bring praise and glory to His name through my life
b) Help me focus on His character and His gifts
c) Give wisdom to my doctors
d) Control the side effects of my treatment
e) Bless those who are His hands and feet in ministering to me
f) Clear my body of multiple myeloma and heal my left eye
g) Help me to trust Him fully no matter what He chooses to do with my physical challenges

May the Lord be the rock of your strength and your refuge,

Jane

  1. Fuji apples! In your back yard! Wow! Can I come visit? I love apples. We have some apple orchards here too, but NOT in our back yard. :(

Jane, I love Ruth Meyer's 31 Days of Praise. I have found that praise and trust go hand in hand. It's like praise is a step further than trust. And I'm so blessed by your trust and praise in these ongoing difficult circumstances. The "sacrifice of praise" takes on new meaning when we're not feeling up to par. May you continue to find God's grace and strength each and every day.

We're looking forward to having Butch and Mary Lou here a week from tomorrow for a few days. Wish you were coming too!

We continue to hold you up in prayer before our Father, mentioning your specific requests, and praising Him for the things you can do.

    Much love and prayer,

    Your cousin, Marilyn
